System Ceramics new technology: Genesis

System Ceramics

A critical eye, vision and a deep understanding of the sector are needed to ensure that the future of ceramics goes beyond consolidated standards and searches for new synergies and opportunities. The evolution of technology is one of the fundamental elements of this process and System Ceramics, a Coesia Company, with consolidated and recognized experience throughout the world for more than 50 years, has driven its research towards making the ceramic product ever more flexible and useable, embracing extra-ordinary sectors such as furnishing and design.

Genesis is a product of these assumptions: a solution that starts from the ceramic material and, in some way, traces a new path towards the world of countertops, worktops, kitchen tops and all those uses in the furnishing world that require a three-dimensional effect. Its particular feature is its completely digital management, with an extremely flexible and integrable concept that makes it possible to meet current slab production requirements and, from a technical point of view, guarantees limitless aesthetic possibilities. Of an ideal size for reduced installation spaces, Genesis integrates perfectly with Superfast, the System Ceramics press, so much so that it can almost be defined as a ‘hybrid’, halfway between a pressing element and a digital printer. It is based on a full-body three-dimensional decoration process, with digital control of the discharge of the coloured atomized powders – whether wet or dry coloured, or possibly ‘salt and pepper’ mixes – in the different chosen points of the slab according to the graphics set-up.

Its operation is based on the performance of the powder head which, since there are no moving elements, guarantees high levels of reliability and speed of response. Genesis is installed to feed the press belt, and therefore operates inside the body of the ceramic product at the same time as it takes form. Thanks to the digital management of the laying process, it’s possible to obtain effects suitable for the creation of products of exceptional aesthetic quality such as marbles and natural stones, with a more striking overall design and high technical content. This high standard is achieved thanks to the process of synchronization with decoration systems and, therefore, with the graphic applied digitally.

A result was made possible thanks to the perfect integration with Creadigit Infinity, the jewel in the crown of System Ceramics digital decoration, equipped for its part with the evolved Creavision e-view vision set-up, and with the new Eye-tron which, communicating in real-time with the digital printer, allows for perfect synchronization of the surface graphics with the full-body effects. System Ceramics has, therefore, once more transformed into cutting-edge technology a process that revolutionizes the aesthetics of ceramics furnishing and expands its commercial potential exponentially.

The development of Genesis inevitably involved important input from geodesign, carried out in collaboration with Tosilab, the design hub specialized in the study of trends. To actively enable world-renowned producers to enter into a market with highly competitive products, System Ceramics has invested time and resources in the analysis of natural materials, their geological characteristics, and the evolutionary dynamics that define their veining and texture.

Only through this preliminary and contextual research has System Ceramics been able to arrive at the presentation of Genesis as a complete and effective technology, ready to accommodate and give concrete voice to the innovative industrial spirit of those who wish to explore ceramics in its real, and not only structural, three-dimensionality, but also and most of all, to exploit its enormous commercial potential.

System Ceramics, therefore, continues its historical series of disruptive innovations and technological successes, taking another step toward a new revolution in ceramics.
