Designed by Rashi Bothra and Ruchi Gehani, Founders & Interior Designers from Azure Interiors is spread over 7,500 sq.ft. This space was reincarnated as an airy, luminous haven. You enter through the wide, welcoming front porch spanning the length of the farmhouse, adorned with overflowing planters.
This earthy farmhouse themed around “Serenity Fields Retreat” could just have been in a charming Spanish town. Meant as a recreational space, Mayfair Farmhouse on the outskirts of the city of Raipur, Chhattisgarh is a charming and rustic space that embraces nature’s elements and has a warm and inviting ambience. The farmhouse is designed to blend harmoniously with the surrounding landscape, reflecting a deep connection to the earth. This picturesque retreat nestled far from the maddening crowd is where they would like to reset and rejuvenate and also entertain guests.
Stepping through the front door, the living area is a warm hug with a treasure trove of earthly delights, the open seating is adorned with handcrafted wooden furniture and, cosy rug, radiating warmth. This space leads to the powder washroom with a pop of warm mauve colour with black-grained marble all over. You might feel like you’ve just stepped into a cute European home.
The passage then connects to an informal living where your gaze will be arrested by swing by the window in dyed rattan and stained wood frame overlooking a stunning landscape view.
Right next to it is the heart of the home – the dining space with an open kitchen exuding vibrancy with terrazzo all over in a combination of pastel mint green.
The bedrooms, each with their unique character, offer the ideal peaceful sanctuary replete with wooden bed frames with cane accent supporting layers of cosy bedding. Sunlight filters through the sheer curtains, casting a gentle glow on the worn wooden floors.
Special attention has been given to the inner courtyard, which is designed with patterned flooring and wall art with a cosy set of outdoor furniture pieces to enjoy the skylight above.
The first floor can be reached through the Italian staircase with a curved edge and a seamless glass rail. The first floor is dedicated for entertainment with a pool table, a cards table, a bar counter and an attached home theatre with folding sliding fabric glass partition.
The kids’ bedroom in pastel colours was designed keeping in mind requirements such as ample storage for their games and toys.
This farmhouse has been built keeping sustainability in mind so natural fibres like linen, cotton, or wool have been used for curtains, upholstery and bedding. While the artefacts are made of marble and ceramics, earthy plasters such as lime coats in the interior walls provide a textured and earthy appearance. Even on the terrace heat absorbing tiles have been used on the floor for reducing the consumption of air conditioners in the space.
